SEIT GP™ Version 1.0.1
ARINC developed the ground-breaking Space Environmental Impacts Tool (SEIT™) to help customers monitor space weather and solar phenomena and take action before they negatively impact satellite, communication, and radar systems. There are two versions of the SEIT tool: SEIT GP Version 1.0.1 and SEIT.Net™ Version 1.0.0.
SEIT GP Version 1.0.1 has a variety of innovative capabilities. For instance, an energetic solar flare event can produce X-ray, optical, and radio-frequency emissions, all having potentially harmful effects on sensitive equipment. By using SEIT GP, an analyst or operator could obtain further flare-characteristics information over the Internet, and then model the event to quickly determine which types of USAF satellites in various orbits might be adversely affected, and to what degree. The analyst can then contact satellite controllers, who could immediately take appropriate action, such as closing equipment ports or re-orienting the satellite.
The SEIT GP Version 1.0.1 is available for public release and licensed for free to Government users within the space environment community, and may be downloaded here.
