Supervisory
Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems
SCADA systems are an integral part of a modern security and incident management control center. Operators of transportation systems need SCADA systems to manage critical infrastructures such as rail traction power and tunnel ventilation. Monitoring and controlling these systems is necessary during equipment failures or critical incidents. As a result, ARINC has designed a fully functional SCADA system solution that consists of both software and field equipment. Our Advanced
Information Management (AIM®) solution gives flexibility while providing a platform that can be customized to meet a broad range of requirements. AIM can scale from small installations up to major systems such as the New Jersey Transit SCADA system and the Washington DOT I-90 Tunnel Central Control System.
AIM SCADA is designed to run on the same servers that host AIM rail applications. By sharing a common database, ARINC can fully integrate train control and SCADA functions. For example, rail dispatch displays can be configured to show the sections of the track that have power while the power dispatch displays can be configured to show the details of all breakers and feeds.
Other features of AIM include the capability of storing information and alarm/incident management. By integrating field equipment and sensors, AIM can take the guesswork out of managing an incident involving a fire or other problems. In addition to controlling tunnel ventilation, AIM can provide the foundation for a variety of ITS control systems such as traffic signals and signs, power systems, and tunnel lighting. These applications can be customized to meet the needs of any operation.
As a vendor-neutral system integrator, ARINC can deliver a system that is built upon an existing system as well as deliver cost-effective hardware configurations to support an operation’s requirements. ARINC has the ability to develop custom drivers to manage a wide range of legacy field equipment and technologies.
