Electronic Advance Passenger Information System (eAPIS)
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Traveler Manifest Submission
As of May 18, 2009, all aircraft will be required by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to submit passenger and crew manifests prior to takeoff and landing. To support a smooth transmission for commercial airlines and private aircraft pilots, ARINC is leveraging its already in-place secure, global network—AviNet—to deliver these critical messages electronically.
Recognized by the international community as the standard for data sharing and passenger processing, APIS system functionality includes arrival/departure notices, the transmission of master crew lists to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and the ability to view carrier reports.
Common APIS data includes information found on passports or visas:
- Full name
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Country of residence
- Country of origin
- Final destination
- Travel document type
- Travel document number
eAPIS allows operators to create, submit, and track the status of manifests on a CBP-designed web-based interface. ARINC understands the vital importance of advance passenger information to aviation and security. We deliver more than 23 million critical data messages per month—assuring our customers that APIS filings will be handled with the same unmatched integrity and reliability of all ARINC flight services.
