SwiftBroadband is designed to meet the demand for more bandwidth across all areas of aviation while delivering the same high-quality Inmarsat voice communications. It allows more simultaneous users and more demanding applications, rates can be increased further by using parallel channels and data compression, it supports both IP and circuit-switched applications, and it enables all key cockpit and cabin applications, including telephony, text messaging, e-mail, Internet and intranet access, as well as flight plan, weather, and chart updates.
