ARINC Delivers AviNet eXchangeSM Service for SkyVantage; Customer Airlines May Benefit Immediately

May 18, 2011

Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC Incorporated today announced that SkyVantage Corporation, an innovative provider of passenger reservation and management services for more than 20 airlines, has successfully implemented ARINC AviNet eXchangeSM network service.

Cory Robin, CEO of SkyVantage, announced the development to customer airlines at the company’s 2011 SkyVantage Summit May 18 on Paradise Island (Nassau) Bahamas.

“SkyVantage is excited to offer our airline customers the industry-wide access they can enjoy through AviNet eXchange,” said Mr. Robin. “This is another highly efficient service that SkyVantage airline customers can now take advantage of, to reduce their costs and sell more tickets to increase revenue.”

AviNet eXchange simplifies communications between airlines and their trading partners such as global distribution systems (GDSs) and government agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). One partner can exchange data and messages with any other partner on the AviNet Network, regardless of legacy messaging and communications protocols used by the other partner. ARINC’s AviNet services carry more than 40% of the aviation industry’s Type B messaging traffic.

Debbie Wirsing, an ARINC Aviation Networks Manager, spoke to SkyVantage airline representatives at the Summit meeting on ways to enhance marketing and communications strategies through the use of AviNet eXchange and AviNet Hosted services.

As an efficient portal to the global aviation community, AviNet eXchange streamlines business messaging such as seat availability status (AVS), flight schedule and status information, exchange of e-ticketing data with a trading partner, transmitting Passenger Name Record (PNR) messages, sending Advanced Passenger Information (API) data to border and customs agencies, sending orders for spare parts to a supplier, and sending freight messages, weather data, and FAA flight plans.

SkyVantage Corporation offers industry-leading software technology products
and services hosting that specializes in helping airlines dramatically reduce
operating costs, maximize revenue and efficiently manage their business.

The SkyVantage Airline Management System (SVAMS) is a complete airline
reservations, passenger services system and operations management system that
leverages real-time, pure-internet cloud architecture. It has enabled what
SkyVantage calls the Real-Time SVAMS. It allows airlines to connect people
directly to business processes, eliminating intermediaries, inside and outside
the airline. It creates unprecedented efficiency and lowers costs. It provides
airlines with an unmatched competitive advantage. The Real-Time SVAMS sets the
standard for airline performance in the 21st century, and SkyVantage is at the
forefront of enabling airlines to make this model a reality.
